Job Title: Maintenance & Reliability Manager

Location: Silsbee, Texas

Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Schedule: 24/7/365 Operational Responsibility

About Us

Ace Green Recycling is looking to make Silsbee the zero Scope 1 emissions lead battery recycling capital of the world. We are building the first facility in the United States to show we can make lead recycling sustainable and safe, using the world’s most advanced battery recycling technologies. We are looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Manager, who will own asset availability and uptime and demonstrate that we are a crucial part of the energy transition.

This is a high-intensity, high-growth environment — ideal for someone who exemplifies ownership, urgency, and commitment to their team’s success.

We are currently launching our first-of-its-kind site in Silsbee, Texas—a 365,000 sq. ft. brownfield facility that will set the standard for our expansion across North America.

Unlike traditional recyclers, we use a proprietary technology stack that eliminates furnaces and emits zero Class 1 emissions. Our mission is to show the world what battery recycling should be, can be, and will be. We are seeking a visionary leader who thrives on ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to build a department from the ground up.

The Opportunity

As the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, you will not just be maintaining a facility; you will be commissioning a new era of manufacturing technology. You will own the full mechanical and electrical responsibility for the site, leading the charge on our ambitious goal of 98%+ uptime.

This is a "whiteboard" opportunity. All of our equipment is brand new. You will select your team, choose your tools, and implement the systems that define our success. If you are a hands-on leader who wants to leave a legacy, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Department Setup:

  • Build the Team: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team of skilled craftsmen (Mechanics, Electricians, Controls Techs) capable of supporting a 24/7/365 operation.
  • CMMS Implementation: Lead the selection, configuration, and launch of the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will define the data standards, preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, and asset hierarchy to drive enterprise-wide performance.
  • Commissioning & Startup: Partner with engineering and vendors during the installation and commissioning of new, proprietary processing equipment to ensure maintainability and reliability from Day 1.

Operational Excellence:

  • Reliability Focus: Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategy to achieve and sustain 98%+ operational uptime.
  • Safety & Hygiene: Champion our core values of Employee Safety and Hygiene. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA standards and strict internal environmental protocols unique to lead-acid battery recycling.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including spare parts inventory, contractor services, and capital expenditures.

Technical Oversight:

  • Own the complete electrical and mechanical integrity of the plant infrastructure and processing equipment.
  • Analyze breakdown data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field is preferred, with an Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields will be considered in lieu.
  • Specific M&R Leadership within a large Lead Acid Battery Recycling facility will be considered.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Maintenance Management within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing maintenance operations in a 24/7/365 facility is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a "Greenfield" or significant "Brownfield" startup or large expansion environment is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep expertise in CMMS implementation and utilization (e.g., MainSaver, Maximo, Fiix, Limble, MaintainX). You must demonstrate how you have used data to drive reliability.
  • Strong background in both mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors) and electrical systems (PLCs, VFDs, power distribution).

Leadership Traits:

  • Demonstrated ability to build culture and teams from scratch.
  • High resilience and adaptability suited to a startup environment.
  • Strong focus on safety compliance and industrial hygiene.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Be the founding Maintenance Manager for our first US site.
  • Growth: We have aggressive plans for expansion -your success here paves the way for future leadership opportunities.
  • Innovation: Work with cutting-edge, environmentally-friendly proprietary technology that is changing the industry around the world.
  • Culture: We value ownership and recognition. We provide the resources you need to succeed and celebrate wins together.
  • Our Results are a function of our inputs, and our people are our most valuable resource. Execution matters.
