An exciting opportunity has become available at AFRIpads and we’re looking for a vibrant, energetic, flexible, talented Fleet Controller to support our operations team in managing the fleet and supporting operations processes.

Who are we looking for?

In order to deliver menstrual health products to the intended user, the Fleet Controller will go a long way to provide logistical support to deliver timely and exceptional customer care. You would be responsible for overseeing vehicles and maintenance to keep our operations running smooth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, manage and support all the fleet management activities in the office.
  • Update and maintain logistics tools/systems, filing and completing all logistics and fleet related records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders and deliver key customer experience.
  • Provide timely administrative support to fellow staff members.
  • Support in general transport planning & movement of AFRIpads vehicles, including any assistance the Sales team may need with vans and drivers.
  • Ensure that all vehicles have the necessary documentation & accessories.
  • Ensure vehicles are highly maintained and in good mechanical condition.
  • Ensure timely vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Ensure all vehicles have fuel and the usage is timely accounted for.
  • Conduct Weekly vehicle inspections and maintenance of vehicle mileage records.
  • Support in obtaining vendor quotations for local procurements of vehicle related parts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and less difficult servicing duties on vehicles.
  • Support with data filing and completion of maintenance records and documents.
  • Liaise with stores in charge for customer order issuance, dispatches and delivery.
  • Support with driving company vehicles to deliver / collect stock / orders to and from various locations in case of driver shortage.
  • Other: Support Operations department with Procurement and Travel requests
  • Other: Support Operations department with store and stock management
  • Opportunity for Growth: This role may evolve into more responsibilities, such as transport planning and direct management of our drivers after time.

Who you are:

You are an experienced fleet professional.

  • Degree in transport & logistics, fleet management or related fields from a recognised institution of higher learning
  • 3 Years minimum working experience as Logistics Assistant/ Fleet Clerk / Operations Assistant or similar category in busy environment
  • Experience dealing with drivers and mechanics
  • Knowledge or experience in automobiles an added advantage
  • Experience working in commercial or non-governmental sectors
  • At least 4 years driving experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Data entry skills and capability in MS office especially Excel; ability to develop fleet reporting tools
  • Proven problem solver
  • Personality profile: practical, highly organized, responsive, persistent, likable, resourceful, likes challenges
