The Team
The HR team is dedicated to supporting the business and its employees by ensuring effective recruitment, employee development, and creating retention strategies. We oversee everything from onboarding, training, conflict resolution, performance management, as well asfostering a positive and productive workculture. Through compliance with labor laws and promoting employee well-being, the HR team plays a critical role in supporting both the company's goals and its workforce's needs.
The Job
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources General Manager to oversee the full spectrum of HR functions for our operations in Indonesia. They will play a key role in developing and implementing HR strategies, managing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance with Indonesian labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management and a deep understanding of local labor regulations and industrial relations.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead and manage the recruitment process for all levels of staff, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and culture.
- Partner with department heads to forecast hiring needs and manage talent pipelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies and external partners.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a primary point of contact for employees to address HR-related concerns and queries.
- Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and effective communication.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances, complaints, or disciplinary issues in a timely and fair manner.
Performance Management & Career Development
- Oversee performance appraisal processes and ensure timely feedback and performance reviews for all employees.
- Implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
- Develop and implement structured career development plans for employees at various levels.
- Provide guidance and support to employees in mapping out their career growth within the organization.
- Work closely with senior management to identify future leadership talent and create succession planning initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Manage salary and benefits administration to ensure competitive and equitable compensation.
- Review and adjust compensation structures in alignment with market trends and internal equity.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, allowances, and retirement plans.
Compliance & Labor Relations
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian labor laws, government regulations, and industry standards.
- Keep updated on changes in local labor legislation and ensure all HR policies and practices are in alignment.
- Represent the company in meetings with government agencies or external parties regarding labor disputes or regulatory matters.
HR Policies & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices.
- Support senior management in defining and executing HR strategies to achieve business goals.
- Manage HR systems and reporting tools for effective tracking of HR metrics.
Organizational Development
- Advise on organizational structure and role definition to optimize efficiency and workforce effectiveness.
- Lead initiatives for team-building, leadership development, and overall organizational health.
Industrial Relations
- Manage relationships with labor unions and work councils, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and labor regulations.
- Act as a liaison between management and labor representatives to resolve disputes, negotiate agreements, and ensure a harmonious working environment.
- Stay updated on changes in labor laws and ensure that the organization adheres to both legal and contractual obligations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • 9+ years of experience in HR management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, labor law compliance within Indonesia, industrial relations, and career development planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven ability to design and implement career development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Fluent in both Indonesian and English (spoken and written).
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on business goals.
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience working at a startup company preferred.
