The Job
This role will ensure successful and timely completion of the designated project scope within the approved budget by coordinating with all project stakeholders and overseeing implementation and specifications outlined in the project contract. This includes managing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in alignment with the project schedule. The role also involves proactively gathering all necessary information from various departments—such as process, engineering, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and purchasing—for the assigned project area, and ensuring that there are no delays from any source that could hinder progress. Close monitoring of the project's progress across all disciplines is critical as well as identifying and reporting critical issues to superiors along with recommended corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the designated area of the project from concept to commissioning.
- Lead a set of project teams along with external contractors and consultants and ensure that the stipulated specifications, dimensions, and quality are maintained as per corporate and international standards without any deviation.
- Management of Change and coordination with Engineering for stated area to ensure changes are controlled, recorded and documented.
- Lead efforts on mechanical equipment with respect to preparation/review of technical documents, material specifications, preparation/review of enquiry documents, review of technical bids including recommendation of vendors.
- Visit vendors at various stages of inspection including final FAT.
- Regular interaction with civil team and contractor for design / development of equipment foundations, platforms, maintenance access, monitor and support transportation of equipment site, storing at site.
- Active participation and lead the efforts with contractor during assembly, erection, testing and commissioning of equipment.
- Coordinate and guide the site team, workers, and subcontractors towards management goals with respect to quality, safety and time schedule.
- Ensure all changes adhere to specifications, work scope and drawings are properly recorded as well as documented.
- Adhere to company safety standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the organization.
- Prepare internal and external progress reports pertaining to job status and report it to the Project Manager.
- Review weekly and monthly progress reports, verify the BOQ’s, review contractor project schedule etc.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree (S1/S2) in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in the field of Industrial Project Management for Chemical and Continuous process plant projects as a Mechanical Engineer.
- 5+ years of relevant experience working with an EPC / EPCm organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with international codes such as ASME, ASTM, API, JIS etc.
- Hands-on experience in designing static and rotating mechanical equipment’s such as pumps, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pressure vessels, boilers, heaters, blowers & fans.
- Should be conversant with preparation / review of technical specifications, equipment data sheets, P&ID’s, equipment layouts, equipment drawings, isometrics, supports, MTO’s, civil drawings, electrical & instrument diagrams etc.
- Capable of general piping design including understanding of piping material specifications, valves specifications, engineering, fabrication, welding procedures, general quality control etc.
- Provide active support to Mechanical & Piping Engineering Lead during detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and start of the plant.
- Review, clarification and technical evaluation of vendor offers and prepare TBE & CBE.
- Should have working knowledge of project management, cost controlling, detailed engineering, scheduling, general construction, planning, coordination & execution.
- Set standards on highest level of safety during construction and to prepare the procedures especially in the working areas of high-rise buildings, confined space, excavation & lifting, fire & explosion, scaffoldings etc.
- Excellent knowledge of Project Management and able to use effective tools to preciously measure engineering and site progress.
- Should have good knowledge of engineering software and computer skills such as MS Office, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Navis Works etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a motivated approach to goal achievement.
The position is full-time and based in Gresik, East Java, Indonesia.
