As we scale our operations and continue to push the boundaries of technology, we are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and help advance our manufacturing processes to meet the demands of tomorrow’s construction.

What To Expect

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Apis Cor, you will take ownership of the development, production, assembly, testing, and creation of work instructions for 3D concrete printer sub-assemblies and tooling. You’ll be responsible for executing and optimizing the manufacturing processes involved in the production and assembly of 3D concrete printers and related technologies. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll leverage your expertise to drive improvements and streamline operations, with a strong focus on robotics, automation, and advanced materials. Your contributions will ensure high-efficiency operations and foster innovation within our manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the production, assembly, testing, and development of work instructions for assigned 3D Concrete Printer sub-assemblies and tooling to ensure efficient, high-rate production.
  • Process Optimization: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of advanced manufacturing processes for the production of 3D concrete printers and related robotic systems.
  • Manufacturing Systems Design: Design and implement automated systems and robotic integrations to enhance manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Tooling & Equipment: Develop and optimize custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures used in the production and assembly of components, ensuring high precision and repeatability.
  • Collaboration with R&D: Collaborate with the Research and Development (R&D) teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability of newly developed technologies and products.
  • Material Science Expertise: Leverage knowledge of advanced materials, to develop cost-effective and sustainable manufacturing techniques.
  • Automation Integration: Integrate robotic systems and automation technologies into the manufacturing workflow to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Data-Driven Improvements: Use data and analytics to monitor manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Quality Control: Implement and manage robust quality control systems to ensure that all manufactured components meet rigorous specifications for both functionality and durability.
  • Cost Management: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that manufacturing processes are cost-effective, balancing high-quality standards with operational budgets.
  • Training & Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and technicians in advanced manufacturing techniques, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Safety: Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations, implementing best practices to ensure a safe work environment.
What You Will Bring
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, robotics, or automation, ideally in an industrial or high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in Robotics: Strong knowledge of robotics integration in manufacturing, including experience with robotic arms, motion control, and sensor-based systems.
  • Process Optimization: Proven experience in lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and process optimization, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Materials Knowledge: Familiarity with advanced materials manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC machining, additive manufacturing, or advanced fabrication techniques.
  • A solid understanding of how to produce parts, including knowing what is manufacturable and what is not, are required.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Experience in using data analytics and monitoring systems to drive improvements in manufacturing performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and production teams.
Bonus Skills
  • Experience in 3D printing technologies for industrial or construction applications.
  • Knowledge of robotic programming languages (e.g., ROS, Python) and motion control systems.
