In Vivo and Histology Co-op

We are seeking an In Vivo and Histology Co-op to join Aspect’s Translational Sciences team. Reporting to the Manager, In Vivo Operations you will be an integral part of our team supporting preclinical research and in vivo experimental activities. You will work closely with the in vivo and histology teams to ensure the smooth execution of experimental procedures, inventory management, and preparation of biological samples. This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in experimental biology, histology, and research facility operations, contributing to innovative research in drug development and therapeutic advancements.
Responsibilities
- Support the inventory management of in vivo and histology supplies.
- Ensure accurate data entry, organization, and tracking of in vivo and histology study records and findings.
- Prepare, stain, scan, and organize histology samples for analysis and storage.
- Maintain histology forms for data tracking.
- Assist with in vivo experimental preparation and post-experiment wrap-up tasks.
- Prepare and clean tools, equipment, and study materials for in vivo
- Assist in vivo team with experimental activities, including regular and post-operative monitoring, and other ongoing tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the vivarium and research areas.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Student enrolled in cell/molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or similar program.
- Experience: Previous experience executing research in a wet lab setting, with the ability to perform experiments, conduct technical literature searches, and have a full understanding of the research and development process.
- Beneficial Experience: Hands-on experience with aseptic technique, rodent handling, and histology. Experience working with primary cells, iPSC-derived cells, or organoids in 3D culture systems would be advantageous but not required.

The hiring range for this role is $3,000 - $4,300, annually. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
