Histology Co-op - September

We are seeking a Histology Co-op to join our Translational Sciences team. You will be an integral part of our team supporting pre-clinical research and histology experimental activities. You will work closely with the histology team to ensure the smooth execution of experimental procedures, inventory management, preparation and imaging of samples.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the execution of routine histology workflows, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Performing standard histochemical and automated staining techniques to evaluate tissue structure and morphology.
- Operating digital pathology equipment to capture high-quality images of stained tissue sections for analysis.
- Managing logistical support for external studies, including preparing, tracking, and shipping samples to Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
- Maintaining reliable inventory logs, updating protocol documents, and keeping meticulous records of experimental workflows.
- Assisting in general laboratory operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized workspace within a busy research environment.
Education & Experience
- Education: You are a student enrolled in cell/molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or similar program.
- Experience: You have previous experience executing research in a wet lab setting, with the ability to perform experiments, and have a full understanding of the research and development process.
- Beneficial Experience: Hands-on experience with histology procedures and familiarity using software to perform image analysis.
- Detail-Oriented: You have an outstanding attention to detail and ability to successfully execute experiments in a timely manner. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
- Intellectually Curious: You have a burning desire to learn and explore various aspects of pre-clinical histology research in industrial settings.
- Collaborative: You thrive in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment and believe that we can accomplish more by working together as a team.
The hiring range for this role is $3,750 - $4,000 CAD, monthly. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers.
