Position Overview:

Atlan is looking for a curious, organised Legal Intern to join our in-house legal team for a summer internship lasting 2-3 months during night shift hours of 7pm to 4am IST.

As part of the legal team, you’ll be exposed to business teams and partners across the globe, supporting the day-to-day machinery that keeps a fast-growing SaaS business moving – specifically, in research, and legal operations. However, at Atlan you own your experience and exposure so the more curious you are the better your exposure and experience will be during the internship.

Being an AI native company, this role requires someone who treats AI as a teammate. Our legal team uses an array of different AI tools to support its day-to-day operations and work to be the best in class business partner for Atlan and its customers, including AI driven CLMs, Claude and other enterprise AI tools. You'll be expected (and supported) to do the same.

What you’ll be trained on:

• Drafting and reviewing of NDAs, CLM workflows to support the intake, review and execution thereof.

• Sorting out and organising legal team’s templates, their publication on CLMs and process documentation where needed.

• AI driven legal research with human oversight, project planning, business risks and operations to be considered while delivering any advice to the business.

• Using GenAI tools to accelerate research, first-pass drafting, contract review, and summarisation. We expect you to experiment, learn, and help us refine how the legal team works with AI.

What you’ll be doing:

• Support NDA intake, review, and execution through our CLMs. Help CLM administer in day to day management of the tools, including without limitation, keeping agreement metadata, status, and key dates current so the team always knows where everything stands.

• Track procurement requests coming in and keeping the team updated on the priorities with shadowing to understand how the legal procurement process works end-to-end.

• Conduct research across SaaS commercial topics, data privacy (GDPR, DPDP, CCPA), IP, and local regulatory matters as requested from time to time during the course of the internship.

What makes you a great match for us?

• Currently pursuing BA LLB / BBA LLB or an LLM, or a recent law graduate from a reputed Indian law school.

• Comfortable using Generative AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) in day-to-day work -ideally already using them for research, drafting, or summarisation. Even better if you can tell us what you've tried and what worked.

• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills — able to turn a messy question into a clear two-paragraph answer.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and standard legal research databases (SCC Online, Manupatra, Westlaw, or equivalent).

• Highly organised and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple tracks and deadlines in parallel.

• Proactive and problem-solving mindset — you bring answers and options, not just questions.

• Genuine interest in in-house legal practice at a fast-growing SaaS company.

• Prior interest or coursework in data privacy, IP, or technology law is a plus.

The practical details:

• Duration: 3 months, extendable to 4 based on mutual fit. (June / July / August)

• Engagement: Full-time internship.

• Location: Remote (India-based), with occasional office presence in Delhi if required.

• Start date: Target 1st June 2026.

• Stipend: ₹15,000 per month

• Reports to: Director, Legal.
