As an Onboarding Operations Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and orienting new drivers, ensuring they meet company standards for safety, performance, and customer service. You will work closely with various departments to coordinate the onboarding process and support the driver's integration into the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
- Collaborate with the hub, Dispatch team to identify driver recruitment needs.
- Source, screen, and interview potential driver candidates.
- Conduct background checks and verify driver qualifications, including licenses and certifications.
Training and Orientation:
- Develop and implement driver training programs covering safety, compliance, company policies, and job-specific skills.
- Provide orientation to new drivers, introducing them to company culture, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure drivers have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their job.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure that all drivers comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver qualifications, certifications, and training.
- Prepare and update driver handbooks and training materials.
Safety and Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor and capture driver screening, driving test , training performance and safety records regularly.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for existing drivers.
- Communication and Support
Compliance Reporting:
- Prepare and submit required reports related to driver compliance and safety.
- Ensure all records are maintained accurately and are easily accessible for audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, logistics, human resources) or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of transportation industry regulations and safety standards.
- Experience in driver recruitment ,training and onboarding
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools for record-keeping and reporting

- Leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft office and driver management systems.
- Customer service orientation
- Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- A driver onboarding manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that a company's driver are well-prepared ,compliant with regulations, and to contribute to the over all success of the organization.
