Position Overview:

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven pharmaceutical startup seeking an experienced Logistics & Operations Manager to lead and build our international and domestic logistics capabilities and oversee management of our end-to-end supply chain. This role requires both a strategic mindset but also the ability to be hands on and organized.

You will own, manage, track and scale the coordination of our international and domestic logistics and fulfillment program while also inspiring and managing a team to oversee the end-to-end supply chain to ensure we are delivering high-quality, consistent and price effective products, on-time and in-full. Cost is key, and you will vigorously track and provide insights and recommendations into our logistics and supply chain operations to ensure we are optimizing our network.

Success in this role will also require strong cross-functional communication, working closely with our Quality and Regulatory (QA/RA) and finance teams, and external 3rd party partners.

Reports To

Director, Planning & Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Lead Global Logistics and Fulfillment Operations

  • Design, own and execute end-to-end international and domestic logistics and fulfillment for all parts of our product, including but not limited to bulk medicine, packaging materials and finished goods.
  • Manage air, ocean, truck and courier shipments, strategically managing cost, speed, reliability, and compliance.
  • Own relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, couriers and fulfillment partners to ensure they meet Cabinet's SLAs.
  • Own ongoing negotiation of contracts and service levels.
  • Introduce new partners and capabilities into our network based on the needs of the business.
  • Rigorously track costs and provide insights and recommendations on optimizing the logistics and fulfillment network.

Manage End-to-End Supply Chain

  • Manage and hold the team accountable to ensure all partners are achieving SLAs for manufacturing, production and co-packing timelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships with all partners across the supply chain.
  • Proactively communicate to the team if challenges arise, providing recommendations and next steps.
  • Ensure all milestone dates (e.g. ship-ready and delivery dates) are accurate to ensure the Cabinet team can plan around inventory availability and working capital.
  • Provide a weekly report to the VP, Operations and Director, Planning & Supply Chain.

Ensure FDA & Trade Compliance

  • Ensure all import/export activities comply with FDA and international trade regulations.
  • Partner with QA/RA to maintain inspection-ready documentation, including COAs, MSDS, temperature records, and chain-of-custody logs.
  • Work with import partners and lead responses with Customs and Border Patrol for FDA holds, exams, and queries.

Process & Systems Development

  • Create SOPs, templates, and training to ensure repeatable and predictable processes.
  • Implement and manage TMS/ERP tools and shipment tracking.
  • Build KPI dashboards for cost, service, risk, and compliance.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the logistics SME in supplier onboarding, new product launches, and market expansion.
  • Train internal teams and partners on startup-appropriate but audit-ready logistics practices.

3PL Management

  • Monitor 3PL performance against KPIs (OTIF, cost, deviations, compliance, responsiveness).
  • Lead QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and continuous improvement initiatives with 3PLs.
  • Ensure all partners are trained on FDA/cGMP, GDP, and company-specific SOPs.

Strategic Projects

  • Implementing and embedding AI capabilities to streamline processes and creating disproportional leverage.
  • As needed, support the team on value-add projects including but not limited to, new partner onboarding, new product development, process development and ERP data accuracy.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of international logistics and supply chain operations experience in pharmaceutical or biotech environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA, cGMP, import/export compliance, and cold chain shipping.
  • Experience importing and shipping FDA-regulated materials, not limited to APIs, bulk drugs (OTC and Rx) and packaged product.
  • Decisions are rooted in data.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage both strategic discussions and tactical details with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with a bias for action and a focus on delivering measurable results.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and adaptable to new systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to build processes in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and operating with urgency and ownership.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Notion AI, Airtable AI) and a willingness to adopt emerging tech to enhance performance.
