Location: Mississauga, Ontario (CRH Cement Plant Site) Plant Start-Up: April 2025
Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00/hr
Position Summary
Carbon Upcycling is seeking a Plant Operator to support the start-up and ongoing operation of its new commercial-scale facility located at the CRH cement plant site in Mississauga, Ontario. This role is hands-on and critical to safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The Plant Operator will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations leadership during commissioning and steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities

Operate plant equipment and systems in accordance with operating procedures and safety standards

Support commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and normal operations of the facility

Monitor process parameters, perform routine inspections, and record operating data

Identify process upsets or equipment issues and take appropriate corrective actions

Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical and process-related issues

Coordinate with maintenance personnel to support repairs and preventative maintenance activities

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Comply with all site, CRH, and Carbon Upcycling health, safety, and environmental requirements

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational optimization efforts

Perform other tasks assigned by supervision
Qualifications & Experience
-
Technical diploma or equivalent experience in industrial operations, chemical processing, cement, mining, maintenance or manufacturing environments

2–5 years of experience as a plant or process operator in an industrial setting preferred

Familiarity with mechanical systems, material handling, and process equipment
-
Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline
-
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
-
Ability to work in all weather environments

Comfortable working in an industrial plant environment
