Job Description:
As a Content Writer at Ecozen, you will work closely with the Content Marketing Manager to research, write, and optimize various types of content, including blogs, articles, web page content, product descriptions, social media content and more. Leveraging your creativity and writing skills, you will play a key role in crafting content that engages our audience, drives organic traffic, and enhances brand visibility.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
- Research and brainstorm content ideas, topics, and angles in collaboration with the Content Marketing Manager and other stakeholders.
- Write high-quality, engaging content across various formats, including blogs, articles, web page content, product descriptions, social media posts, and email newsletters.
- Ensure all content is well-researched, factually accurate, and aligned with brand guidelines and messaging.
SEO Optimization:
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve organic visibility and drive traffic to our website.
- Conduct keyword research and incorporate relevant keywords and phrases into content in a natural and seamless manner.
- Implement on-page SEO best practices, including optimizing meta titles, descriptions, headers, and URLs.
Content Editing and Proofreading:
- Review and edit content drafts to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency in messaging, tone, and style.
- Proofread content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors, adhering to editorial guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with the Content Marketing Manager and other team members to incorporate feedback and revisions as needed.
Content Optimization and Maintenance:
- Ensure all owned media assets, including website content, landing pages, and blog posts, are up to date and optimized for performance.
- Monitor content performance metrics and user engagement data to identify opportunities for content optimization and improvement.
- Collaborate with the Content Marketing Manager to implement content updates, refreshes, and enhancements based on data-driven insights.
Content Calendar Management:
- Assist in maintaining a content calendar to plan and organize content production and publishing schedules.
- Coordinate with the Content Marketing Manager and other team members to ensure timely delivery of content and alignment with marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Proactively communicate project status, deadlines, and any potential issues or delays to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role, with a strong portfolio of published writing samples.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing content for search engines.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS skills are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative content ideas and angles.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
