Responsibilities
- Design production grade industry standard motor (BLDC, PMSM, SRM, SynRM etc) as per application requirement
- Review motor designs done by external consultants
- Benchmark and review competitor motors
- Indentify partners/vendors to do prototyping and large scale manufacturing
- Do field trials and testing of the product before large scale depoloyment
- Review field issues, figure out solutions to it for short term and also improve product design in the long term for the same
- Depending on the type of motor, build motor control algorithms and strategy
- Generation and execution of machine-specific test plans and engineering documentation
- Evaluation of motors against various IS, CE, and ISO standards
Eligibility / Qualification(mandatory skills and qualification)
- Degree in Electrical/Power Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
- Knowledge of various types of motors like Induction, BLDC, PMSM, SynRM etc.
- Hands on knowledge of FEA, CFD analysis and rotor dynamics
- Experience with modeling of motors in tools like MATLAB
- In-depth knowledge of various motor control algorithms
- Knowledge of eletromagnetics along with EM simualation expertise
- Awareness of industry standards & testing procedures
- Knowledge of material science for selecting type of material for motor
Preferred Candidate (skills / tasks / experience / x companies that will give extra edge to this profile)
- Hands on tools like Ansys Maxwell, Motor-CAD, FluxMotor, Matlab for simulation
- Familiar with CAD tools like Solidworks, Catia etc.
- Understanding and experience of all mechanical aspects that influence the design of rotating electrical machines. This would extend to familiarity with CAD analysis tools
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques of rotating electrical machines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems
- Strong understanding of fundamental physics
- Gone through the lifecycle of motor design, prototype, manufacturing and post-production of motors
