Position Summary: The Utility Coordinator supports Francis Energy’s Pre-Construction team by facilitating day-to-day utility coordination activities for EV charging infrastructure projects. This role serves as an execution-focused liaison between internal project teams and utility providers to help move projects forward through the early utility coordination lifecycle. The Utility Coordinator plays a key role in tracking utility requests, supporting service applications, maintaining documentation, and ensuring utility-related tasks remain aligned with project timelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support coordination efforts with electric utilities and service providers for new service connections, upgrades, and relocations.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for utility inquiries under the guidance of Pre-Con leadership.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting utility service applications and related documentation.
  • Track the status of utility requests and follow up with providers to maintain project momentum.
  • Help identify potential utility-related risks or delays and escalate as appropriate.
  • Support resolution of utility-related issues that arise during early project development.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility coordination activities, service requests, timelines, and approvals.
  • Organize utility-related documentation including service agreements, correspondence, and project notes.
  • Update internal tracking tools and systems to ensure visibility into utility coordination progress.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support utility needs throughout Pre-Con.
  • Communicate utility status updates, risks, and constraints to internal stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply utility requirements, processes, and constraints to improve coordination effectiveness over time.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of utility processes, power availability, and EV charging infrastructure requirements.
  • Stay informed on utility coordination best practices, evolving processes, and program requirements relevant to EV infrastructure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Pre-Construction operations and company objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a coordination, project support, utilities, construction, engineering, or infrastructure-related role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and with external partners.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving project environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking or documentation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to utility coordination, permitting, or infrastructure project support.
  • Familiarity with construction, engineering, or pre-construction workflows.
  • Experience supporting EV charging, renewable energy, or utility infrastructure projects.
