Job Title: Teacher Trainer (Odia & English Proficiency)

Location: Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and/or Sundargarh, Odisha.

Employment Type: Project-Based Contract

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher Trainer who is fluent in Odia and English, and has worked extensively in the budget private and government school ecosystem. The trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and impactful professional development workshops to primary school teachers, with a focus on foundational literacy, language pedagogy, and classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities:

● Deliver structured training sessions (in-person and/or virtual) to teachers in Odia and English, based on the provided curriculum and pedagogical frameworks.

● Facilitate workshops on foundational literacy, classroom strategies, digital tools, and inclusive teaching practices.

● Conduct pre-training and post-training assessments to track teacher progress and effectiveness of the program.

● Provide on-ground academic support and handholding to teachers through observation, feedback, and coaching cycles.

● Coordinate with school heads, cluster resource coordinators, and local education officials to ensure smooth implementation.

● Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and training outcomes.

● Share periodic reports, feedback, and insights from the field with the central program team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field. B.Ed. or equivalent training preferred.

● Minimum 2–3 years of experience in training or teaching in government or low-cost private schools.

● Proficiency in Odia (spoken and written) and working fluency in English.

● Strong understanding of classroom realities in rural and low-resource school settings.

● Experience in facilitating adult learning or teacher professional development is a must.

● Willingness to travel regularly within assigned districts or regions.

● Comfort with basic digital tools (Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Sheets/Forms).

Preferred:

● Familiarity with state education department structures and programs in Odisha.

● Prior experience with FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) initiatives.

● Experience working with NGOs, CSR projects, or state-led education programs.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience and aligned with sector standards.
