Role Overview
The Academic Excellence Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality academic implementation of Freadom’s programs in schools. This role sits at the intersection of school execution, academic quality, and data-led improvement.
The manager will regularly visit schools, observe classroom and platform usage, provide academic feedback to teachers, identify learning and implementation gaps, and work with internal teams to translate insights into corrective actions and solutions.
This role is critical to ensuring that what is designed academically is implemented with fidelity and effectiveness on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
1. School Implementation & Execution
- Train stakeholders on product implementation.
- Lead end-to-end academic implementation in assigned schools.
- Conduct school visits to monitor teaching practices and student engagement.
- Serve as the primary academic point of contact.
2. Academic Observation & Feedback
- Observe classroom and platform-based sessions.
- Provide structured feedback to teachers and leaders.
- Support improvement in literacy-focused instructional practices.
- Identify pedagogical gaps and suggest interventions.
3. Gap Identification & Problem Solving
- Diagnose academic, operational, and adoption gaps.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design practical solutions.
- Drive course correction through training and implementation adjustments.
4. Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyse student and school-level data (usage, progress, assessments).
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Support impact reporting with field-based inputs.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Academic, Training, Product, and Program teams.
- Share classroom feedback to improve product and content.
- Support rollout of new features and program enhancements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Education, English, Literacy, Applied Linguistics, or related field (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in school-based academic roles, teacher training, instructional coaching, or program implementation.
- Strong grounding in literacy development, reading instruction, and classroom pedagogy.
- Experience working with government or low-resource schools is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse educational data and link it to instructional improvement.
