About Freadom Edu

Freadom Edu is an Indo-Finnish education initiative working at the intersection of foundational literacy, English language learning, and Finnish pedagogy. We partner with governments, schools, and CSR funders to deliver measurable learning outcomes for children in underserved communities across India. Our Teacher Capacity Building Program strengthens the instructional quality and professional confidence of government primary school teachers across Grades 1–5.

About the Role

We are hiring a Project Manager to anchor the on-ground implementation of our Teacher Capacity Building Program in Sanand taluka. This is a high-ownership, field-heavy role requiring someone equally comfortable in government offices and school classrooms.

You will be responsible for end-to-end operational execution — from government coordination and school onboarding to training logistics, attendance tracking, and impact documentation — across approximately:

This is a time-bound, single-cohort program. We are looking for someone who thrives under structured timelines and can keep a complex, multi-stakeholder program on track with minimal hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

Government Liaison & School Coordination

● Coordinate with the District Education Officer (DEO) and Block Education Officers (BEO) to obtain school and teacher lists and secure institutional support

● Serve as the primary point of contact between Freadom Edu and local government education authorities ● Facilitate school onboarding, teacher orientation logistics, and any required permissions or communications at school and cluster level

Program Execution

● Manage end-to-end scheduling and logistics for all training sessions — orientation, online modules, reflective sessions, and the wrap-up/certification session

● Coordinate with trainers (Finnish and Indian faculty) to ensure sessions are delivered on time and to brief ● Monitor teacher attendance and engagement across all sessions; track against program targets and flag gaps early

● Ensure all training materials, devices, and support resources reach schools on schedule

Data Collection & Documentation

● Oversee baseline and endline data collection across the cohort using programme assessment tools

● Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of teacher participation, school coverage, and session completion ● Coordinate with the eGrader / platform team to track digital engagement and follow up on low-engagement schools

● Compile field observations, photographs, and teacher feedback for reporting purposes

Stakeholder Communication

● Prepare fortnightly progress updates for the Freadom Edu program lead

● Liaise with CSR partners as required during reporting periods; ensure data is ready for quarterly reports

● Build and maintain relationships with school heads and cluster resource coordinators (CRCs) to drive sustained teacher participation

Field Presence & Community Engagement

● Conduct regular school visits to monitor program fidelity, surface implementation challenges early, and document classroom practice changes

● Facilitate Teacher Learning Community (TLC) sessions and peer-sharing circles as part of the program model

● Identify and escalate risks — attendance drop-off, school-access issues, community resistance — with proposed mitigations

Who We're Looking For Essential

● 3–6 years of experience in education program management, CSR implementation, or development sector field roles

● Prior experience working with government schools and education department officials in Gujarat (or comparable state)

● Fluent in Gujarati and Hindi; working proficiency in English

● Strong organisational and documentation skills — comfortable managing spreadsheets, attendance trackers, and field reports simultaneously

● Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field with remote line management

● Willingness to travel extensively within Sanand taluka and to Ahmedabad as needed

Preferred

● Background in teacher training, school education programs, or foundational literacy / numeracy work

● Experience with monitoring and evaluation, assessment data collection, or learning outcome tracking

● Familiarity with Gujarat's government school ecosystem — DEO/BEO structures, CRC/BRC frameworks, and state curriculum

● Exposure to CSR-funded program environments with funder reporting requirements

● Experience using digital tools for program tracking

Compensation

Competitive, commensurate with experience and sector norms.
