Description

We have developed a product called ‘HyAI’, which can be used to optimise the design and operation of

renewable-powered hydrogen systems. We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing

Machine Learning Team and support the development and live deployment of the HyAI platform as we roll it

out globally with key industrial players who are committed to NetZero.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and optimise data integration solutions and work with cloud technologies to deliver real time /

scalable analytics solutions

● Design data quality frameworks: ensure data retrieval processes are robust and processed data used

for predictive and prescriptive modelling is of highest quality

● Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: evaluate existing data storage

solutions and remove potential bottlenecks, re-design infrastructure for greater scalability, etc…

● Develop analytical tools to interpret trends and patterns, conduct complex data analysis and report on

results

● Keep data separated and secure based on project geography and customer requirements

● Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code primarily in Python, validated with unit and integration

tests

● Investigate and implement new technologies where beneficial

● Collaborate with tech leads to ensure technical direction and designs line up with broader strategies

and roadmaps

Key Skills and Experience

Preferred:

● 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar in an industry setting

● Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar

● Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Firestore or similar

● Experience with cloud services, preferably GCP

● Experience with data warehouses, preferably BigQuery

● Experience building and optimising data pipelines, architectures and data sets

● Strong programming abilities in Python, including experience with:

○ Functional and object-oriented programming frameworks

○ Unit and integration testing, using a package such as unittest or pytest

○ Version control using Git and GitHub

○ The Python data science ecosystem, including packages such as numpy, scipy and pandas

Bonus:

● Experience within the energy sector

● Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA

● Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring
