Founder's Associate - Netherlands
Heat Geek
Netherlands
Location: Utrecht, The Netherlands
Type: Full-time
Reports to: Netherlands Country Lead
What We Do
At Heat Geek, we are tackling one of the UK’s biggest carbon contributors: home heating. 20% of all UK carbon emissions stems from home heating – and that contribution is even bigger on a global scale. At Heat Geek, we are changing that. By simplifying a traditionally complex industry and revolutionising the technology used by installers, we’re making low-carbon heating mainstream. We are on track to prevent 1,000,000 kg of carbon from entering our atmosphere in Q1 of 2026, and we won’t stop there!
Join Us!
People are at the core of who we are and what we do. From decreasing homeowners’ energy bills to help with the cost of living, to empowering talented heating engineers to perform outstanding installations, to ensuring a greener world for all of us, we believe in the power of what we can all do together. – And we need passionate, talented, hard working people to be a part of this journey.
Your Mission
Our Heat Geek crew is excited to bring a Founder's Associate into the team — a role that’s critical to how we grow and scale our platform. You'll be the second person on the ground in the Netherlands, working directly alongside the country lead. This is a founder's associate role: broad, hands-on, and built for someone who wants to own real pieces of a business from day one.
The short version: you'll be the operational backbone of Heat Geek Netherlands. Build the processes that let us scale, bridge the gap between the Netherlands and the UK, Swiss army knife yourself through every situation. Your attitude and willingness to learn and develop yourself through Heat Geek will make an impact from your first day onwards.

Candidate Requirements
- 1–3 years of real-world experience in something operational, customer-facing, or commercial. Startup experience is a big plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset. You default to action. When something is broken, your instinct is to fix it, not file a ticket.
- Fluent in Dutch and English. Most of your day will be in Dutch (homeowners, installers, regulators); you'll work in English with the UK team.
- Comfortable with AI tools. You don't need to be a developer, but you should already be using ChatGPT / Claude / similar to make yourself faster, and be excited to go deeper.
- Strong communicator. You can express yourself well to all stakeholders. A friendly voice to a homeowner, to a business partner, to an installer, and a motivated team player across all levels
- Organised and systematic. You can hold ten things at once and turn repetitive work into repeatable processes.
- Genuinely care about the energy transition. You don't need to be a heat pump expert on day one, but you should believe in the mission.
- Able to travel to the UK.
It’s a bonus if you have…
- Background or strong interest in heating, energy, or the built environment
- Experience working with a distributed / remote team
We believe great teams are built from different ways of thinking, learning, and living, and as such, we strive to build an organisation where people can show up as themselves. – Even if you don’t tick every box listed above, but are passionate about the work that we are doing and believe that you can make a positive impact here, we’d love to hear from you. So please drop us a message or share more detail in your application!
