Principal Propulsion Design Engineer
Hydrogen Vehicle Systems
The Principal Propulsion Design Engineer will lead design activities to develop and successfully integrate the HVS Propulsion system consisting of Fuel Cell, eAxle, Transmission, Battery, Hydrogen storage and Vehicle Thermal Systems.
This talented Engineer with extensive powertrain design and integration experience will own and deliver the CAD activities necessary for the propulsion and vehicle thermal systems to achieve success. You will have the drive, skills and personality to work closely with both internal stakeholders and strategic partners and organise specialist CAD engineers.
•Lead Propulsion System design activities to ensure the HVS offering meets customer, certification, quality and commercial requirements.
•Apply a best practice Design Engineering approach regarding design specification, concept and detailed design, integration, CAD and Bill of Material management, supplier interaction, drawing release and change management.
•Integrate supplier systems and create in-house design solutions where appropriate.
•Organise service provider activities and interface with relevant suppliers.
•Ensure the design meets legislative, validation and certification requirements.
•Mentor Senior Engineers and Engineers.
•University degree or higher.
•Electrified powertrain integration and vehicle thermal system design expertise within the automotive, aerospace or transport industries.
•Strong design engineering and process skills and experience of delivering a production programme.
•Hands-on, team-oriented individual possessing proven leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
