Your Mission:

As a results-driven Procurement Project Manager, where you will be responsible for procuring on the project for hydrostor’s A-CAES project and supporting our delivery/ECI partner’s procurement.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this role will drive progress by managing the procurement process and some commercial administration for Hydrostor. Driving selection and management by project managing the integration of the technical inputs, the project construction and the commissioning requirement, operations and maintenance support and spares acquisition for the project from the vendors.

You will work closely with the Early Contractor Involvement partner to optimise the schedule and cost, and ensure appropriate risk allocation.

Your Day-to-Day Adventures:

Owners Procurement:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy for all OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) core processes crucial to the project.
  • Work with our ECI partner and technology team to:
  • Identify and qualify potential vendors based on technical capabilities, cost competitiveness, and past performance.
  • Develop and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) that clearly define project requirements and ensure value for money.
  • Manage contract negotiations with vendors, ensuring alignment with project budget and timeline constraints.
  • Manage vendor selection process, finalizing contracts with chosen suppliers, and establishing strong working relationships.
  • Oversee vendor performance and ensure timely delivery of goods and services within budget.
  • Contract administration for procured equipment and service for the project
  • Manage the inclusion of packages within or outside of the EPC contract

Cost Management:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed project budget and cash flow for packages.
  • Track project expenditures and cash flows against the budget, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to stay on budget.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses of procurement options and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
  • Identify and manage procurement-related risks that could impact project cost and schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with project stakeholders, including engineering and the ECI partner and Operations lead, to ensure best value for project execution.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of project documentation, and head contract schedules related to procurement activities.
  • Lead and participate in procurement and project meetings and ensure clear communication with stakeholders on procurement progress and cost management.

Candidate/Employee Overview:

We are seeking an experienced individual with a proactive and collaborative approach to project procurement and project management. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for interacting with suppliers and vendors, to ensure project objectives are met. Key attributes include being detail-oriented, adaptable, and the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management procurement, commercial administration, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Procurement, Economics Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certification in Procurement or Project Management, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial administration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical, schedule and financial information clearly.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
  • Experience in purchasing and financial modules of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP, JDE).
  • Experience working with planning tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and Project Management Cost Control Systems (for example Prism, EcoSys, InEight Cost, UniPhi, Bentley Synchro) and is looked upon favorably.
