Your Mission

The Manager of Scheduling will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing planning and scheduling operations across North America. Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring effective planning and scheduling support for project teams while contributing to the overall operational functions of the Project Controls team. Collaboration with various teams will be key to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and seamless coordination.

Your Day-to-Day Adventures

  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) based on project scope of work.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, encompassing master, summary, and detailed project schedules. Maintain an approved baseline in the schedule, ensuring deviances are appropriately flagged for mitigation with the team and, where appropriate, management.
  • Incorporate schedule data from project managers, construction management, contractors, and the project team into the master schedule for the projects assigned. Communicate impacts, risks and opportunities through ongoing and two-way communication with the team.
  • Facilitate weekly scheduling review meetings and communication within the project team, and across its stakeholders by providing regular updates on project schedules, milestones, and potential risks.
  • Review contractor schedules and progress. Collaborate with contractors to align key milestones and audit schedule integrity.
  • Perform resource loading on Hydrostor activity schedules to align with resourcing and recruitment plans.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and critical path analysis.
  • Propose recommendations for recovery plans based on schedule analysis.
  • Integrate change management into project schedules to assess the impacts on the project of changes.
  • Generate schedule and progress reports and dashboards to communicate timely status updates to all stakeholders. Prepare lookahead schedules, highlighting critical items for communication within the project team.
  • Develop planning and scheduling procedures fit for purpose on the projects and across the organization and provide input for the continuous improvement of these procedures.
  • Address ad hoc requests and perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

We are seeking an enthusiastic planning professional with extensive project planning and scheduling experience to take on the role of Manager of Scheduling. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for advancing their career within a project environment, particularly within the renewable or utilities energy or the Oil and Gas sector. Strong multitasking abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and acute attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be adept at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines effectively. What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, Information Systems or a related field.
  • 8 - 10 years of proven experience in project planning and scheduling.
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software tools, particularly Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Thorough understanding of standard project control practices and systems, including planning, scheduling, critical path method, risk management, change management, and earned value management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and experience with Power BI.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks and manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • PMI or AACEI certifications are considered advantageous.

Compensation Details:

  • Salary $100,000 - $160,000
