Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Finance and Accounting Associate to manage critical financial functions, including invoicing, payroll, collections, and tax audits. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Invoicing
- Prepare, review, and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients.
- Monitor and track invoicing schedules to ensure timely billing and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure invoice accuracy.
Payroll
- Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for employees in compliance with local labour laws and company policies.
- Verify payroll data, including salary adjustments, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and payroll-related taxes and contributions.
Collections
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with clients for outstanding payments.
- Implement effective collection strategies to reduce overdue accounts.
- Maintain detailed records of communications with clients regarding payment terms and disputes.
Tax Audits and Compliance
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory filings.
- Assist in internal and external tax audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance with local and national tax laws.
General Accounting Support
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Provide financial analysis and reports as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Experience with tax audits and liaising with government agencies.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and labour laws.
