Job Summary
The Associate Manager - Production is responsible for overseeing and managing the production processes, ensuring the efficient and timely assembly of Vehicle Batteries while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role involves leading a team of production supervisors and workers, optimizing production schedules, and implementing best practices to achieve production targets and cost efficiency.

Job Summary
The Associate Manager - Production is responsible for overseeing and managing the production processes, ensuring the efficient and timely assembly of Vehicle Batteries while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role involves leading a team of production supervisors and workers, optimizing production schedules, and implementing best practices to achieve production targets and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands, taking into account production capacity, materials, and resources.
- Collaborate with the demand forecasting and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of components and materials for production.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of production supervisors and workers, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the production team.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure that production processes adhere to quality standards and specifications.
- Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections to identify and address any defects or issues.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
- Production Efficiency:
- Implement and oversee efficient production techniques and workflows to maximize output while minimizing downtime.
- Continuously analyse production data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Health and Safety:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all production activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate and report any accidents or safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all production equipment and machinery are properly maintained and serviced.
- Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Reporting:
- Prepare regular production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and production efficiency metrics, to present to senior management.
- Communicate production progress, issues, and resolutions to the Plant Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Min. experience of 6+ years as a Production Lead in the Automobile Industry or a related manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices in manufacturing.
