Job: Part-time Social Media Assistant
Location: Virtual
Pay Range: $700/month for 2 months
Expected commitment: 4-10 hours/week
Join our team of passionate scientists, engineers, operators and business leaders working
to transform the future of our planet. Mango Materials is producing and selling biobased,
biodegradable materials from waste greenhouse gases – and we want you to be a part of
it.
We need a proactive, organized candidate with strong communication skills to manage our
social media and promote biomaterials. The ideal applicant is adaptable, works well under
pressure, and can juggle multiple priorities with a growth mindset.
Background on the company and position:
Our technically focused leadership includes five senior members with STEM PhDs. We
prioritize employee safety, use Asana for project management and communication, and
follow strict procedures and timekeeping. Our team maintains rigorous file control, tracks
all data, and constantly seeks more efficient work methods. We work hard and always
seek to work smart.
This role focuses on boosting Mango Materials’ external communications, social media
presence, and brand awareness. We seek someone detail-oriented, open-minded, and
enthusiastic. A glass half-full, positive attitude is a must!
The Social Media Assistant will be expected to tell compelling stories about biomaterials and
environmental innovation on social media in a way that can relate to a broad audience.
Our ideal candidate is/has:
- Strong ability to draft, plan, post, react, and share educational marketing on various social medial platforms
- Solid knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok)
- Exceptional writing skills
- Ability to translate scientific concepts for a general audience
- Capability to create videos, presentations and other media from scratch
- Excellent Photoshop and PowerPoint skills
