Since 2020, we have rapidly pioneered the world’s most versatile direct air capture (DAC) technology to recover historic CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere, anywhere at any scale. Backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the XPRIZE foundation, Stripe, and the UK Government, we’ve moved a brand new climate technology from lab to commercial plants in under three years to rapidly empower carbon removal and sustainable utilisation.

We’re now looking for a motivated Finance Manager to support our mission — helping us effectively use our funds as we start to put our technology on the ground across the world.

About the role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for looking after our financial systems and keeping funds moving in service of our business objectives. If you excel at financial reporting, purchasing, and systems implementation, you’ll thrive in this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end finance operations, ensuring all finance activities are running smoothly with minimum disruption to the business and stakeholders. You will be the first point of contact for all transactional activities.

Reporting to the Head of Finance (HoF), you will work primarily in the technology development team focusing on creating the foundational scientific/engineering solutions to advance our current and future DAC products. The role will be centred around our headquarters in London, in a hybrid working arrangement.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, your responsibilities will cover several key workstreams as follows:

  • Payroll - maintain and process payroll including year-end submissions.
  • Purchasing, Payables, and Receivables - entails overseeing the entire life cycle of purchasing, paying invoices, and collecting revenues. This also includes ensuring transactions are recorded accurately according to supplier and customer contracts while adhering to accounting policies
  • Manage, compile, and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness and availability for translation
  • Reporting - prepare month-end close report with variance commentary. Assisting HoF on additional reporting requirements including budget vs actuals for departments.
  • Systems - Strive to ensure all systems are up to date and minimize administrative tasks by automating processes.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks such as VAT returns, HMRC audits and assist HoF with any additional task requests from external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and tax advisors

What you’ll need to be successful in this role

  • Fully qualified/Finalist ACCA/ACA/CIMA or international equivalent
  • Experience working with NetSuite and Xero
  • Understanding of FRS102 accounting standards
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging environment

Ideally, you’ll also have:
