Essential Duties:

• Operates packaging equipment to pack finished product into 50 lb. and 25 kg poly-lined bags
• Responsible for ensuring bag weights are accurate and within the specified tolerance, metal detector is operating correctly, and pallets are stacked to specification
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Procedures
• Perform Packaging Technician duties including but not limited to; filling and sealing bags, manual – lifting while putting bags on pallets, labeling pallets, stretch wrapping pallets, and obtaining in-process & finished product samples
• Operate the production process control system so that process is running under control and the desired process parameters are maintained
• Actively engage Manufacturing Technicians on when to perform operational and process control activities
• Accountable for material movement within their area of responsibility
• Provide information and guidance based on the collection and understanding of process data
• In case of an operational deviation from plan, compile the respective process data so that the root causes of deviation are understood, enabling support groups to implement the necessary corrective actions to avoid similar situations

• Support for occasional non-routine work hours

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong safety awareness, always adhering to safety procedures and SOPs
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
• Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and written procedures
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and understand what equipment, valve, etc. function is occurring in the field when making control adjustments
• Ability to stay calm and make the necessary adjustments to maintain safe operations when a process variation occurs
• Be able to analyze data and make necessary adjustments to control the process within specified parameters
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with and influence people with different backgrounds and job functions
• Ability to troubleshoot various operational conditions and recommend potential solutions
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Be productive and stay on task with little or no supervision
