Nutrition Technologies manufacture and supply sustainable insect proteins, oils and frass to help feed the growing aquaculture, agriculture and animal feed industries around the world. Their core products derive from a nutrient recycling process that uses black soldier fly larvae to recover nutrients from vegetable and grain by-products. They have a unique tropical production system which combines both insects and bacteria to produce high value insect proteins out of low-grade agricultural and industrial food waste. Their main production site and office is in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, with supporting sites in the UK, Vietnam and Singapore. In Johor Bahru they have grown a unique modular black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) production system, which embraces several cost-saving green technologies. By optimising the local climatic conditions they have been able to boost black soldier fly larvae efficiencies, quality and yields beyond industry standards. Nutrition Technologies have developed research partnerships with key institutions throughout the region to develop their products and are conducting several feed trials on key consumer species. Current research partners include; Curtin University (Australia); Crops for the Future (Malaysia); USM (Malaysia); UTM (Malaysia) Nong Lam University (Vietnam); RMIT (Vietnam) and Kasetsart University (Thailand). Their research is also being supported by the Global Connections Fund (Aus government), the International Foundation for Science, and USAID. In September 2017 Nutrition Technologies were the winner and audience favourite of the USAID sponsored Tech4Farmers Asia Challenge 2.0 competition, competing against a field of innovators from across Asia. In July this year, they raised Series A funding led by Openspace Venture and joined by SEEDS Capital, an investment arm of Enterprise SG. Nutrition Technologies are proud to lead the charge in the region to offer sustainable insect protein and oils for the animal feed industry and the pet food sector. Nutrition Technologies - sustainable protein for a better world. Nutrition Technologies Products: Hi.Protein is an insect protein meal, derived from 100% black soldier fly larvae, with high levels of methionine & lysine. An ideal source of protein for fish, shrimps, chickens and pigs. Proven to improve growth & health metrics for a range of animals. Hi.Oil is a 100% natural feed insect oil, high in Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs), low in cholesterol, with zero trans-fats. An ideal energy source for piglets and chickens, has the gut health benefits of MCFAs, with no added antioxidants or stabilisers. Hi.Dried black soldier fly larvae are an ideal feed for free-range chickens, ornamental fish, reptiles, birds and pigs. Comprising 100% whole larvae, each piece is dense in macro- and micro-nutrients, and their small size makes them an ideal feed. Freshly collected, still wriggling, live larvae. Our Hi.Live larvae are collected and shipped daily. Ideal for carnivores such as reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds, our live feed promotes the natural behaviour of your animals. Returning nutrients to the soil, nature’s way. Our Hi.Frass is composed of 100% organic matter and is high in beneficial microflora, with typical NPK values of 2:1:2 and C:N ratio of 25:1. With highly bioavailable nutrients it significant boosts growth. Company Owners: Nick Piggott - CEO Nick has over 15 years business experience directing companies and projects.
