About Octarine Bio

Octarine Bio is a Copenhagen-based company pioneering a new generation of sustainable, bio-based colourants. We engineer nature-inspired colours that deliver the performance, stability, and safety profile required for demanding industrial applications while decoupling colour from fossil-based chemistry. PurePalette™ is supplied as a formulated product, ready to use in textiles, plastics, paper, and more.

Designed for drop-in integration and targeting price parity with conventional colourants, PurePalette™ lets customers adopt a more sustainable solution without compromising cost, quality, or scalability.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will own the commercial relationships that take PurePalette™ from sample to qualified supply. You will identify and develop new customers across multiple regions and application segments. You will guide customers through the full sales process, from the technical evaluation that industrial colourants require — sampling, trials, and qualification on their own equipment — to supply agreement execution.

This is a hands-on role in a company at an early commercial stage. You will work closely with technical and commercial teams to understand customer needs and bring learnings in the field into product selection and development. As volumes grow, you will also help build the order fulfilment and logistics processes that reliable supply depends on.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable holding technical conversations with engineers and commercial conversations with purchasing managers, and who is motivated by building something new.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new customers & key accounts across target markets and regions
  • Manage sample and trial programmes from first request through to qualification on customer equipment
  • Present PurePalette™ to technical and commercial audiences, from process engineers to purchasing and sustainability teams
  • Understand customer applications and requirements, and work with R&D and application scientists to match them to the right formulation
  • Prepare quotations and proposals, and negotiate supply agreements
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors, and partners
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and account information in the CRM
  • Represent Octarine Bio at trade shows and industry events, and feed market and competitor intelligence back to the business
  • Deliver on revenue and growth targets, and help shape our commercial strategy

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years in technical sales, business development, or application support in an industrial B2B setting
  • Strong ability to deliver a technical sales presentation, to hold a credible technical conversation and to translate it into a commercial one
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and trade shows
  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Curious, proactive, well organized, and comfortable owning a sales pipeline

Preferred

  • Experience in colourants, pigments, dyes, inks, coatings, or textile chemicals
  • Familiarity with how industrial customers qualify a new raw material — sampling, trials, and regulatory or restricted substance screening
  • Experience selling a novel or sustainability-positioned product into cost-sensitive markets
  • Working knowledge of the operational side of sales, e.g., order fulfillment, warehousing, shipping, and export documentation
