• Build and maintain data pipelines: identify relevant data sources, collect data from internal and external systems, and ensure data quality and integrity
• Model and analyze Data: the team explores, analyzes, and interprets data
• Build reporting & visualization: the team develops dashboards and reports
• Promote and infuse data culture across all departments.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the infrastructure and architecture necessary for data collection, storage and processing.Your main activities will include the following, without limitation:> Build and maintain data pipelines from internal databases and SaaS applications,> Maintain our data warehouse & ETL to ensure data quality & integrity,> Collaborate with infrastructure and IT teams to manage and maintain data infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking resources,> Optimize data systems and implement data governance and security measures,> Provide guidelines to document our architecture and systems,> Facilitate seamless collaboration with Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers, enhancing operational efficiency for the team. Promote data accessibility and usability, ensuring the fulfillment of their data requirements> Optimize performance: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data systems and processes. Optimize query performance and data retrieval to ensure efficient data access and analysis. REPORTING LINEThe Lead Data Engineer will report to the Data Director. Competencies RequiredSpecific Data Engineer experience required:> Strong programming skills:> Proficiency with data-related Python packages and code> Demonstrably deep understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses> Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools (ideally : Airflow, dbt)> Experience with a cloud based data warehouse (Snowflake/ Redshift/Azure)> Excellent organization skills - ability to plan and organize work so that it is efficient and effective> Fluent English and French communication skills, both written and verbal> Communication and collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and understandable language.> Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex data requirements, troubleshoot data-related issues, and develop creative solutions. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving,> Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices. YOUR BACKGROUND> 8-10+ years as data engineer, proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment using on-premise tools and on-demand (Saas) transactional systems.> Confirmed background in managing large and complicated projects> Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams, driving concrete results> Experience with infrastructure as code HIRING PROCESS
