Founded in 2013, OpenClassrooms develops and runs a platform of online courses that are free and open to everyone. The mission of OpenClassrooms is to make education accessible to all, but also to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing. Created by Mathieu Nebra and Pierre Dubuc in 1999, OpenClassrooms (formerly known as the "Site du Zéro") has quickly become a reference in terms of eLearning and the number one online course platform in Europe. Supported by partners – schools, universities, businesses – and a community of 800,000 members, OpenClassrooms gathers 900 courses and over 2.5 million students every month on its website. Some MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are now available within the course catalog of OpenClassrooms. A premium service also provides students with unlimited access to course certifications, video and ebook downloads, and the option to learn at one’s own pace, without time restrictions.
