Our zero-carbon process reimagines the production of lime, a mineral that naturally removes CO2 from the atmosphere. Used in everything from cement and steel production to water filters, lime touches our lives in many ways, but remains highly carbon-intensive to make. Our technology changes this.

What you'll be doing.

As the Engineering Design Lead, you will be at the forefront of:

• Delivering engineering studies and design packages from proposals/concept through to FEED.
• Growing, developing, and championing a multi-disciplinary design team as we scale.
• Leading the development and delivery of engineering deliverables: H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, Process Descriptions, etc.
• Ensuring all tasks are delivered to a high standard and in line with the schedule.
  
• Active contribution to innovation and process improvement.
  
• Providing technical guidance and expertise during study execution.
  
• Supporting active pilot demonstration tests to validate technology performance and scalability.
• Collecting data from pilot demonstration tests and applying learning for scale up technology

• Collaborating with the commercialisation team to take a scale-up design to market.
  
• Interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders on progress updates, outcomes and technical issues.
• Providing practical, yet innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges.
  
• Collaborating with our R&D team to deliver the “engineering” model of world-class carbonation equipment and Origen’s future processes.

What we're looking for.

• A passion for restoring the atmosphere, whilst being able to embrace the ever-evolving and (sometimes!) ambiguous nature of a hardware start-up!
• An innovative mindset; someone who explores new concepts and creative solutions to engineering challenges. & able to make decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Persistent when faced with challenges and setbacks, taking lessons learned into consideration when applying methodical problem-solving techniques.
• Experience taking a concept through to scale-up.
• Willingness to both teach and be taught themselves!
• Process engineering knowledge, ideally focusing on kilns, oxy-fuel, combustion, industrial gases, materials handling, minerals processing – or similar, transferrable chemical processes.
• Can interface and manage engineering design firms and/or EPC contractors.
• Familiarity with working in – and leading – multidisciplinary design teams within a relevant/transferrable industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, or relevant engineering discipline.
