Our zero-carbon process reimagines the production of lime, a mineral that naturally removes CO2 from the atmosphere. Used in everything from cement and steel production to water filters, lime touches our lives in many ways, but remains highly carbon-intensive to make. Our technology changes this.

What you'll be doing.

As a Lab Technician at Origen, you will be working with our R&D team as we continue the development of our process for direct air capture of CO2 with our zero-carbon lime. This will involve:

• Working in small teams within the R&D group a range of projects.
• Running sample analysis of minerals in our Bristol lab.
• Conducting experiments in the lab, particularly in lime carbonation.
• Compiling experimental data to share with team members.
• Contributing ideas to improve future experimental protocols.
• Supporting the maintenance and improvements of our new laboratory.

What we're looking for.

• Systematic in your approach, and comfortable working through high volumes of data to identify key metrics/results to create reports.
• Patient and systematic produce results while keeping a focus on delivering to agreed timescales.
• A collaborative team player, willing to support where needed to achieve team goals.
• Naturally inquisitive and comfortable asking questions to understand more about the what & why of your role.
• Curiosity in our mission – whether this be that you’re new to exploring Climate Technology, or have a long-standing passion for sustainability (or somewhere in between!).
• Comfortable in an ever-evolving, and (sometimes!) ambiguous environment; you’re not easily phased by changes in strategy, approach or direction.
• No requirement for a qualification, for example a Degree, though familiarity with working in a lab environment is strongly preferred, whether this be academically or in industry.
• Ideally, you’d have experience working with powders, minerals, bulk solids/materials – but if you have all of the above in a different setting, we still want to hear from you!
