What you'll be doing.

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer on a contract basis to support with ongoing development of our technology and Pilot Plant.

• Developing technical plans based on research ideas

• Designing products based on the requirements of the company

• Carrying out surveys on equipment and various mechanical systems

• Presenting design plans to Managers and clients

• Producing technical documents that the company requires

• Conducting product testing

• Overseeing quality control programmes and overall maintenance in a facility

• Developing CAD project drawings and reviewing drawings from junior team members for accuracy

• Completing data logs required onsite

• Collaborating with Project Managers and developing accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various types of internal projects.


What we're looking for.

• Mechanical Engineering experience within Mining and Minerals Processing or Heavy industry engineering.
• Experience in specifying pipework, pressure vessels, mechanical items, valves, plant equipment and materials of construction. Working knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO, BS and EU standards relating to process pipework. (PED 2014/68/EU, ASME/ANSI B16 series, ASME/ANSI B31.3 as a minimum).
• Supporting projects within Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC phases.
• Pipe stress analysis for high temperature application
• Design for pipe expansion and loading for thermal and vibration stress
• Structural design experience with industrial plant structures
• Experience with heat transfer & burners
• Understanding of DSEAR/ATEX requirements for gas and oxygen systems
• Design for maintenance and operation
• Commissioning and plant start-up experience
