Social Media Marketing Intern

Overview:
Plastic Bank is on a mission to serve humanity by stopping plastic pollution and ending poverty. We believe in rising to the occasion, taking action, and becoming the change that the world needs. We are seeking a like-minded and highly motivated Social Engagement Intern to join our team.
This is a 6-month internship position that requires an individual with impeccable written and oral English skills, a strong foundation in rational thinking and creative writing, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have active social media profiles, curiosity to enable machine learning for efficiency, and a passion to serve people and the planet. They will be responsible for using AI to deliver high-quality and high-volume engagement with our existing and potential audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
- Manage and execute social media posting, reposting, resharing, and commenting on LinkedIn, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram.
- Oversee social media activities for both Plastic Bank and its Founder’s social accounts.
- Suggest engaging content tailored to each platform (creative team to help create).
Community Engagement:
- Track current trends and social media posts related to Plastic Bank, its industry, partners (existing and potential), and communities.
- Intercept and hijack conversations that are relevant and highly engaging with an indisputable and positive POV, bringing the focus of discussion to Plastic Bank’s solution
- Engage authentically with audiences, with timely and thought-provoking responses.
- Foster a sense of community and drive engagement across social media platforms.
Trend Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze social media trends and conversations relevant to Plastic Bank.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on trend analysis to enhance content and engagement strategies.
- Report performance on engagement metrics.
Qualifications:
- Seeking a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- No corporate experience required. Passion for content writing, social media management, and community engagement is a must.
- Exceptional writing and proofing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable using AI for content creation, optimizing on-brand machine learning, and ensuring that the output is human-verified.
- Proficient in conducting desk research and verifying information prior to quoting.
- Active social media accounts on TikTok and Linkedin.
- Good understanding of social platforms and their respective audiences.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate interesting and meaningful conversations on social media.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about regenerative solutions and the mission of Plastic Bank.
