Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) – Egypt & Middle East
Plastic Bank
Role Overview
The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) is responsible for driving Plastic Bank’s long-term commercial growth in Egypt and developing strategic business opportunities across the broader Middle East region. The role leads strategic business development, market expansion, enterprise sales, and executive-level partnerships to strengthen Plastic Bank’s market position in plastic circularity, recovery, and sustainability solutions.
Based in Egypt, the SBDM will lead the development and execution of country-level commercial strategies while identifying and pursuing opportunities across relevant Middle Eastern markets. This includes building relationships with multinational and regional corporations, developing strategic accounts, evaluating new markets, and establishing partnerships that support Plastic Bank’s commercial growth and environmental mission.
A key priority is to prepare, develop, and drive Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)-related commercial opportunities, positioning Plastic Bank as a strategic partner for businesses seeking to advance their packaging sustainability objectives, plastic recovery initiatives, and applicable producer responsibility commitments. The SBDM will identify prospective clients, develop qualified sales pipelines, prepare commercial proposals and presentations, structure partnership models, and lead negotiations through to contract closure.
The role requires a strong understanding of Egypt’s commercial environment, relevant regulatory developments, and corporate sustainability priorities, alongside the ability to assess opportunities across Middle Eastern markets with differing regulatory frameworks, business practices, and customer requirements.
The SBDM will establish and maintain high-value relationships with C-suite executives, sustainability leaders, packaging and supply chain decision-makers, and other key stakeholders across FMCG, manufacturing, retail, food and beverage, hospitality, packaging, and related industries. The role will also identify opportunities to collaborate with regional business groups, industry associations, and other strategic stakeholders to expand Plastic Bank’s reach beyond Egypt.
Beyond achieving commercial objectives, the SBDM will provide leadership within the Business Development function by mentoring team members, leading cross-functional initiatives, providing market intelligence and commercial forecasts, and advising senior management on country and regional growth strategies. Working closely with Operations, Sustainability, Finance, Marketing, and other relevant teams, the SBDM will ensure that commercial commitments are financially viable, operationally deliverable, and aligned with Plastic Bank’s mission.
