Role Overview
Product delivery is core to Pow.Bio’s reputation and growth. As our customer programs and commercial pipeline expand, we are seeking a Program Manager who owns customer delivery end-to-end while serving as an early commercial gatekeeper.
This role is a force multiplier across customers, internal R&D teams, and the commercial organization. You will translate complex science into clear timelines and business outcomes, ensure programs stay on track in an inherently uncertain R&D environment, and help raise the quality of incoming work. Your goals will be:
- Improve on-time, on-scope delivery
- Increase customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Raise the quality of incoming projects and deals
- Reduce load and distraction on the science team
Key Responsibilities
Customer Program Ownership
- Own end-to-end execution of customer R&D programs from kickoff through completion
- Maintain and actively manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Drive internal coordination across scientific, operations, and commercial teams
- Lead all external customer communications, meetings, and status updates
- Anticipate and manage scope changes, risks, and expectations in uncertain R&D work
- Own program documentation and internal record-keeping
- Draft and manage customer agreements, including services agreements and statements of work
- Own invoicing processes and follow-ups related to customer programs
CRM & Commercial Infrastructure
- Own and maintain the CRM system as a super user
- Partner with Sales/BD to manage pipeline hygiene, stage progression, and data integrity
- Generate reports and insights to inform commercial strategy and resourcing decisions
Commercial Enablement
- Manage inbound customer inquiries and early-stage engagement
- Act as a technically credible first point of contact for prospective customers
- Qualify opportunities at the top of the funnel — assessing technical fit, scope, and strategic value
- Serve as a gatekeeper for “good fit for Pow.Bio” work
- Participate in conferences and industry events to generate interest and relationships
- Support marketing efforts with customer insights, messaging input, and content ideas
Qualifications
- 3+years of program management experience within industrial biology, biomanufacturing, or synthetic biology
- 5+ years of experience working within scientific or technical teams at a biotechnology company
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field; business training is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with scientists, engineers, customers, and executives
- Highly organized, self-directed, and execution-oriented, with a bias toward measurable results
- CRM power user — experience with Pipedrive, HubSpot, or Salesforce; enthusiasm for using metrics to drive performance

Compensation for this role is based on experience, scope, and demonstrated impact. The expected hiring salary for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 base, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
