Based in Noosa, Australia, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s largest corporations in personal care and agriculture to deliver our first of a kind products and we're now rapidly scaling operations to meet increasing demand.

We’re seeking an exceptional Algae Technician with experience in microalgae/seaweed cultivation to join our R&D team focused on the development, optimisation and maintenance of a diverse range of small scale algae cultures. This role is based in Noosa with opportunities for rapid career progression for the right candidate. Working with world leading experts in a purpose driven and highly motivated team, you will be provided on the job training that will enable you to become a world leader in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a collection of microalgae/seaweed
    cultures, conducting routine inoculation using strict aseptic technique.
  • Conduct daily husbandry and inoculation of cultures in a controlled environment following strict protocols.
  • Operate closed-system bioreactors in compliance with internal protocols and specified regulatory standards.
  • Conduct research projects under the direction of the senior algae technician.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of the Algae/Seaweed production process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and continuously optimise production processes.
  • Maintain precise and accurate records to support data-driven improvements.
  • Maintain plant and laboratory equipment and adhere to strict cleaning and maintenance protocols.
  • The position will operate on a rolling roster that includes weekends in a facility that operates 24/7 in a time critical environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in aquaculture, bioprocessing, or related fields or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in algae/seaweed cultivation or aquaculture.
  • A problem solving, can-do attitude.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
