Headquartered in Noosa, Australia, our team has built a scalable and sustainable production platform. We are now expanding global operations, bringing Surf’N’Turf® to market, and advancing our pipeline of algae-derived products to serve agriculture, consumer, and therapeutic markets.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead, design, and scale our engineering team. This role combines technical leadership with people management, ensuring our engineers are empowered to deliver innovative solutions while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
  • Guide a high-performing engineering team
  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices and processes
  • Guide technical strategy and architecture for scalable systems
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams
  • Oversee project delivery, timelines, and resources
  • Provide hands-on leadership in design, reviews, and problem-solving
  • Communicate progress, risks, and technical trade-offs to stakeholders
  • Champion innovation and adoption of new technologies

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Lead, ideally in biotech, agtech, or related industries
  • Strong background in, systems design, or industrial automation
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams in a commercial environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with agile methodologies and modern engineering practices
  • Passion for sustainability and biotechnology
  • Exposure to IoT, robotics, or process automation
  • Knowledge of bioprocessing, cultivation systems, or lab/industrial instrumentation
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, control systems, or machine learning integration
