Job Summary: A manufacturing test engineer will collaborate with Qnergy quality and engineering departments, to improve stationary, stand-alone electrical power generation equipment. The test function will support validation of PowerGen, for both existing and new product designs. Physical testing may occur at Qnergy-Ogden, or at remote customer field locations. Test Engineers will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans to characterize and communicate safety, reliability, and performance metrics and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Identify and procure tools, and testing equipment, as needed.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures.
  • Fabricate and assemble specialized testing fixtures, as needed.
  • Analyze results and provide comprehensive reporting, both written and verbal.
  • Recommend actions based on observation, and prior experience.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Read, follow, and write standardized procedures.
  • Train and mentor operators on procedures and equipment.
  • Continuously improve Qnergy processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify product and process improvement opportunities.
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or a related field.
  • >5 years of practical experience in a test engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing methodologies and equipment.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Operate software (CAD and Office) to document designs, tests, and results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to listen to, and follow instructions regarding workplace safety
  • Must be able to lift, move, and carry objects up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Applicants may work in teams or as an individual, depending on project requirements
