Job Summary: The Electrical Designer III is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components for manufacturing operations. The Electrical Designer III will create detailed electrical schematics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD software.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Perform calculations and simulations to verify design integrity and performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior electrical designers and engineers.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare and present design documentation and reports to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and implement best practices.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in electrical design or engineering preferred.
- Relevant internships or work experience in electrical design is required.
- 5-7 years of electrical design experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems is an advantage.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work on the production floor performing a variety of tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and regulatory requirements.
