Job Summary: The Electrical Designer III is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components for manufacturing operations. The Electrical Designer III will create detailed electrical schematics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to verify design integrity and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior electrical designers and engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare and present design documentation and reports to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and implement best practices.
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical design or engineering preferred.
  • Relevant internships or work experience in electrical design is required.
  • 5-7 years of electrical design experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems is an advantage.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to work on the production floor performing a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards and regulatory requirements.
