COMPUTER SCIENCE/ENGINEERING INTERN[ Location: Austin TX ]AboutProvide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in areas such as design, development, testing, and/or manufacturing process improvement. Work will be focused on electrical hardware, electronics, and firmware development. Students will perform simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. This person may perform one or a combination of such typical duties as:Responsibilities- Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.- Testing electrical equipment before it is released for service.- Developing/updating firmware for 3D printers.- Maintaining records of work throughout the internship for a final presentation.- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; currently working towards an advanced degree preferred.- Portfolio of programming projects preferred.- Knowledge of Marlin firmware and an ability to optimize code for performance.- Understanding of Git and managing Github repositories.- Attention to detail with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and through documentation.- Experience with hand tools and light power tools.- General knowledge of 3D printers.Duration: On-going, 3 month commitment
