About RideTandem
RideTandem is a tech-for-good startup on a mission to enable sustainable commuting for all. Our technology enables green, flexible transport that connects people with vital work and educational opportunities.
Why we’re hiring
We’re growing - fast. We’re on track to be one of Europe’s top 25 fastest growing companies according to the FT1000 list. We’ve delivered 1000x revenue growth since our launch in Q4 2019. That’s allowed us to enable our passengers to earn £50 million in wages in roles they’d have had no other way to get to, whilst offsetting over 8000 MT in carbon emissions.
We have built a repeatable sales process that works across our core target segments and now we are looking to expand our team in Germany with a Commercial Manager who cares about our mission, can present our value proposition to the right audience and is excited about growing a business in a new market.
What you’ll do
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to lead our expansion efforts in the German market reporting to the Director of Business Development in the UK. This role is pivotal in driving growth and establishing RideTandem as a market leader in Germany. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, with at least 5+ years of sales experience and 2+ years in a sales management role, preferably within a startup environment. Fluency in German (mother tongue) and English is essential.
Whilst we have laid the foundations you’ll be tasked with growing our market share and making sure that RideTandem is the go-to name for employee transport across the country:
- Closing opportunities created by the SDR team and offering strategic direction on which vertices to target.
- Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals. Ensure the team follows best practices and leverages the established processes of the well-established UK team.
- Some lead generation within key target accounts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across the UK and Germany, including marketing, product, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to market entry and expansion.
- Be self motivated with a desire to achieve ambition targets
About you
- Minimum of 5+ years of B2B sales experience with at least 2+ years in a sales management role. Experience in a startup environment is highly desirable.
- Happy to contribute to sales personally, not just a manager, for at least the next 12-18 months.
- Native-level proficiency in German is mandatory. Proficiency in English is also required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Preferable if you have experience with:
- Hubspot
- Selling into blue collar industries
- A clear understanding of MEDDIC sales methodology
Working Details
This is a full-time role. We’re a remote-first company, with team members all over Europe and a few beyond that. We have an office in central London and plan to have an office in Germany in the next 12 months. There will be some in person working in Germany and London required, plus customer site visits as required. We also have quarterly in-person team meetings in the UK, monthly virtual team socials, and weekly virtual all hands meetings.
What you’ll get
- The opportunity to work towards a meaningful mission with a team committed to doing good in the world
- Competitive salary and performance-based incentives
- Flexible working hours and remote work options
- Professional development and growth opportunities
- Collaborative and supportive team culture
