Your mission at Sistema.bio:

Reporting to the Country Director Latam, the Head of Finance is responsible for the financial activities of the organization within the Region, ensuring financial health, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with the company's overall financial strategy. This includes planning, directing, and controlling financial operations to optimize performance, manage risks, and support strategic decision-making.

You’ll be in charge of:

  • Financial Reporting & Audit
    • Report monthy complete and reliable Financial Statements as well as annual audits on time.
    • Changes to previous periods only in case of limited exception (audit adjustments, significant event requiring modification of previous period)
  • Ensure the development of robust, documented processes and controls.
    • Monthly closing process (accuracy of entries, documentation in SAP)
    • Process for reimbursment, procurement to pay process, and authorization matrix enforcement
    • Accounts receivables reconciliation (SAP, Salesforce, Referenced payment), credit reserve control.
    • Oversee the factory inventory management
  • Ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, financial laws, and internal policies while identifying and mitigating financial risks, including currency exchange and interest rate risks.
  • Team Management
    • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Regional Finance team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
    • You will lead a team of 5 people: Accountant, Treasury and AP Specialist, AR Assistant, AR Specialist & Admin Assistant
  • Finanancial Strategy, Planning and Analysis
    • Bring valuable contribution to Strategy with other regional Leaders on a regular basis (India, Kenya, Colombia, etc).
    • Develop a precise and consistent Budget (every year) and mid-year forecast prepared in conjunction with the regional Leadership team, CFO and Financial Analysts.
    • Review and contribute to timely and quality reporting and analysis on Unit Economics evolution
    • Adhoc pricing studies for some projects
  • Budget Management
  • Cash Flow Management, Control & Analysis
    • Ensure cash transactions are processed safely with the adequate control level
    • Invest excess cash in accordance with Investment policy
    • Control Cash Flow files, reconciliation on a weekly basis and report on time the monthly file
    • Contribute to Cash Flow analysis and Working Capital analysis
  • Contribution to SAP B1 evolution


More about YOU:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8 -10 years in Financial roles ideally in international companies, previously reporting to the CFO.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Team management experience.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other financial planning software.
  • Commitment to drive the company toward improved financial results
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Desire to positively impact the environment
  • Deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency, and profitability of an organization.

  • Salary range: 60-75K MX, according to professional experience.
