The People Business Advisor (PBA) will partner with and support Cornerstone client groups in order to meet their people needs, while being supported by and operating under the strategic direction of the People Business Partners. This role works closely with People Business Partners/Advisors, client group managers, the People leadership team, Legal and Regional business leaders. In this hands-on advisory role position, you will establish credibility of yourself and the People Team with client group managers. The People Business Advisor will be the key go-to person for all People Business Partners to help deliver the overall regional Human Capital Strategy and solutions that align with the business and operational goals. The PBA will play an important role in leading people initiatives across the Americas that include country specific expertise in employment law and performance management. Major Areas of Accountability: Relationship Building Develop close working relationships with clients by demonstrating a solid understanding of the commercial drivers of the business. Work in conjunction with the People Business Partners/Advisors, specialists in our Centers of Excellence (CoE), operational services, and broader People team to deliver effective People strategies and operational solutions. Serve as a trusted advisor on people-related issues to frontline employees and mid-level management while demonstrating empathy, credibility, integrity and maintaining confidentiality. Trusted Advisor Provide advice and support on a wide range of People issues to frontline employees and mid-level management, in keeping with our enterprise-level People practices and culture. Provides frontline employees and mid-level management with interpretation and guidance regarding People policies, legal and compliance matters, etc. to ensure fair and consistent application. Provide support for escalated employee inquiries; conduct and manage investigation of complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications; assess the severity of such issues; involve appropriate individuals in operational services and CoEs; and facilitate appropriate action based on policy and practice. Review and assist mid-level management in drafting corrective action, performance improvement, and termination documentation as requested. Counsel and coach mid-level managers on proactive leadership and provide strategic HR advice to create productive and cooperative work environments that enhance employee engagement and develop the full potential of our employees. Work with People Business Partners/Advisors to manage the implementation of all elements of our people strategy within the client groups. Collaboration and Process Efficiency Collaborate with the broader People team in the implementation of our operational and talent strategies. Educate frontline employees and mid-level management of services/programs available to them and encourages use of self-service tools as applicable. Coordinate and lead the exit interview process; identify opportunities, trends and areas of concern requiring follow up. Partnering with the People Business Partners to showcase relevant regional data such as engagement, employee relations issues, exits, complaints; present findings on a regular basis to key stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned or as may be necessary. Knowledge Skills: Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels in the organization Demonstrated advising and coaching skills Demonstrated ability to define problems, establish alternatives, and determine the optimal course of action in the context of broader business strategies and objectives Work well under pressure, prioritize, meet deadlines, drive projects to completion, and manage the results Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong organizational skills; attention to detail Strong computer skills to operate effectively with company systems and programs Ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with sound judgment, tact, and discretion Ability to work independently and with geographically dispersed teams Demonstrated commitment valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Education Experience: Undergraduate degree in business, HR, or a related discipline is required Five-plus years of progressive HR experience; preferably two years working within a business-partner model and across multiple countries Experience in at least two of the following HR functional areas: performance management, rewards, leadership, learning, employee relations, people operations/services or organizational development Preferred experience in the setup of a new country/office location
