Position Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: North America – Remote

YOU ARE:

Accurate and detail oriented, very organized and able to work independently and be proactive. Willing to jump in and help out wherever there is a need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Full-cycle accounting for Canadian parent and US subsidiaries
• Maintain vendor files and process AP semi-monthly (~25 invoices/cycle)
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monthly recuring journal entries
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll and tax remittances, annual T4s, etc. for ~ 20 employees
• Prepare and file GST/HST returns monthly
• Assist with monthly consolidations and reporting package for senior leadership team/investors
• Assist with grant applications and reporting
• Assist with the development of project cash flows, cost projections and proformas
• Monitor and analyze project costs, overhead costs, etc. and explain variances
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of a new ERP system
• Assisting with the annual year-end audit and tax filings including account reconciliations, working papers, etc.
• Compiling information for the annual budget
• Co-ordinating and preparing information requests for other departments/external business partners
• Assisting the Director of Finance with other duties as requested

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with full cycle accounting – IFRS and US GAAP experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of accounting software
• Experience with cash management, budgeting and financial reporting
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects and thrive in a team environment
• Experience with creating and maintaining policies and procedures documentation
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills; must have the ability to communicate effectively

SALARY RANGE:

$70,000-$85,000 CAD
