Position Summary
The Manager, Government Affairs – Vietnam will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance the company’s public policy objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong relationships with government entities and key stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of Vietnam’s political and regulatory landscape, particularly in sectors relevant to the company’s operations.

General Summary
Position Summary
The Manager, Government Affairs – Vietnam will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance the company’s public policy objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong relationships with government entities and key stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of Vietnam’s political and regulatory landscape, particularly in sectors relevant to the company’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that may impact the company’s operations in Vietnam.
- Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company in government meetings, hearings, and public forums.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Public Policy, Communications) to ensure alignment on regulatory and policy matters.
- Draft policy briefs, position papers, and official correspondence to support advocacy efforts.
- Identify and support applications for local subsidies, incentives, and regulatory approvals.
- Provide strategic advice to leadership on political and regulatory risks and opportunities.
- Support cross company communications and project collaboration.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in government affairs and public policy.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Political Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory engagement, preferably with a multinational company or government agency.
- Strong understanding of Vietnam’s government structure, policy-making processes, and regulatory environment.
- Proven experience in advocacy, lobbying, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- High ethical standards and ability to operate in a matrixed, multicultural environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Government Affairs, Business, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Engineering, Legal, or related field.
- 5+ years of Government Affairs, Communications, Industry Associations, or related work experience.
