The Program Manager drives end‑to‑end execution of Qualcomm’s Linux‑based Industrial IoT software roadmap. This includes upstream alignment, open‑source compliance, distro enablement, lifecycle management, and transforming prototypes into production‑grade industrial solutions.
The role requires strong cross‑functional leadership, deep embedded Linux expertise, and experience coordinating global teams—including Offshore Development Centers (ODCs)—to deliver predictable, high‑quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Linux Platform & Upstream Execution
- Lead upstreaming strategy, kernel branching, LTS/stable maintenance, and mainline alignment.
- Ensure open‑source compliance and coordinated release execution across Linux, Yocto, and Debian/Ubuntu.
- Drive enablement across Yocto, Debian, and Ubuntu, covering graphics, multimedia, AI/ML, connectivity, robotics, and industrial frameworks.
- Promote developer‑first workflows and maintain clear, upstream‑ready documentation.
- Convert platform capabilities into stable, production‑ready industrial IoT solutions.
- Integrate industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherCAT, Profinet, MQTT, CoAP).
- Translate customer requirements into actionable engineering plans.
- Guide PoCs, solution integration, and delivery of developer‑grade documentation.
- Manage schedules, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication across kernel, multimedia, connectivity, Android, and HW platform teams.
- Maintain disciplined execution across global contributors.
- Uphold CI/CD health, validation coverage, and pre‑merge quality gates.
- Track and close quality regressions to meet production‑readiness KPIs.
Required
- 10–12 years of program management experience in embedded Linux, kernel, Yocto, or open‑source environments.
- Experience managing global engineering execution including ODC‑based delivery.
- Strong understanding of upstream Linux workflows, Yocto/OE pipelines, and Debian/Ubuntu packaging.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering programs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience with industrial IoT systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Background in customer‑facing engineering, prototyping, or productizing Linux‑based IoT stacks.
- Strong documentation and developer‑ecosystem orientation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
