Role Overview

This position is part of Qualcomm’s fast-growing Automotive Business Unit. The role focuses on:

• BSP and platform software for Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive SoCs
• Developing low-level drivers, QNX/Linux platform components, and hypervisor integration
• Supporting platform bring-up and early software integration for automotive customers
• Collaborating with global teams across hardware, systems, and software
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in BSP, driver development, or platform integration
• Strong skills in C/C++/Python/Shell scripting
• Experience with QNX and/or Linux kernel BSP development
• Knowledge of:
• Bootloaders, boot flow, SECPOL, and access control
• Device Trees and board bring-up
• Hypervisor FE/BE frameworks
  
• Familiarity with peripherals, including SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and PCIe
• Experience with UFS, eMMC, and NOR flash
• Background in Qualcomm Automotive platforms (bonus)
• Experience with system architecture and OTA design (preferred)
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
  

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and validate BSP, drivers, and platform software on Qualcomm chipsets
• Implement QNX/RTOS drivers, Linux kernel drivers, and user-space components
• Develop hypervisor front-end and back-end modules
• Participate in platform bring-up, stability testing, and issue triage
• Work cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and test teams
• Support customer integration and early development phases
• Produce technical documentation, including BSP guides, notes, and design documents

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$94,500.00 - $141,700.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
