General Summary

Job Overview: Centralized, professional scan team supporting all business units to analyze internally developed and inbound third-party software code for compliance with open-source licenses, commercial licenses, and standards. Using a variety of software tools, review and annotate code according to defined guidelines and resolve scan projects with minimal escalations to the OS Legal group. Prepare reports of scan findings, research open issues, and request additional information from stakeholders in Engineering, Program Management, Product Management, Business Unit Legal and OS Legal. Track and report on status. Monitor product roadmaps and interact with release readiness/approval process. Manage automated scanning workflow. Document software metadata and usage guidance in databases. Expected to work with limited guidance to resolve issues of moderate complexity relating to any aspect of scan projects.

Skills/experience: 5-6 years of corporate work experience including:

• Knowledge on Opensource licenses and commercial licenses.
• Knowledge on software programming terms.
• Basic knowledge on issue tracking tools like Jira.
• Basic knowledge on version control systems like git, svn
• Ability to do high volume, repetitive tasks with extreme accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions that are revised often.
• Research skills using internal resources and/or internet as needed.
• Good Analytical and communication skills(both verbal and written)
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience to search and identify for Open-Source licenses from SPDX is a plus
• Experience with software scanning is a plus.
• Experience on working with tools like Blackduck, Palamida, or Fossology.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and identify tool issues for troubleshooting.
• Good at using excel for daily use and knowledge on Visual basic, pivots and formulas is a plus.
• Hands-on experience on python scripting will be a plus.
  
  
  

Responsibilities: Scan and analyze software code to ensure compliance with open-source licenses, commercial licenses, and licensing for standards in order to protect QUALCOMM’s intellectual property. Interact with both engineering and OS legal team to resolve scanning issues. Participate/identify automation opportunities that enhance teams’ productivity/efficiency.

Education requirements: B.Tech/B.E

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
  
  
  

OR

Associate's degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience.

OR

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
